SURE: Root canal treated teeth no longer have a nerve and blood supply inside, but any discoloration that tooth currently has could increase over time. They may consider internal bleaching to whiten the tooth (somewhat). Root canal treated teeth are more brittle, than vital, non- root canal teeth, therefore a full coverage crown is often made for support. Talk to your dentist about your options.

Not necessarily: Not all root canaled teeth discolor. In fact, teeth root canaled early in the disease process rarely discolor as it is the byproducts of disease in a tooth that usually cause the discoloration. If the tooth begins to discolor, you can try internal bleaching or cover the tooth with a veneer or crown. Time will tell. Good luck!
