Several weeks: Sorry, but fluoxetine takes longer than 1/2 hour to help your depression ; anxiety symptoms. Its half-life is very long, meaning it takes several weeks to reach steady state in your system. Most people experience some results in 6-8 weeks, though improvement could continue past that.
