Probably: If the kitten is healthy and not aggressive, it is not likely to cause problems to the baby. However, the kitten should not be in the baby's crib or in really close contact. Being in the house with the rest of the family is probably ok.

I wouldn't : Recommend it. First the infant will be exposed to dander from the kitten. Second, an animal's behavior toward an infant can be unpredictable if you are not present.

After a cat has been infected, it can shed the parasite for up to two weeks. This is a dangerous infection for infants with fragile immune systems. Practice extra good hygiene around your baby and cat.
