Please avoid them: All scents or fragrances are dealt with by a newborn or young infant as an irritant like smoke or paint fumes.If anything, it adds to the risk they will develop significant nasal congestion and begin having breathing difficulty. I feel they have no valid benefit and many drawbacks when used around small children. I advise against them prior to school age.

Don't use them: Air scent "freshers" emit in vapor form the scent that you purchase. Many people including infants can develop allergies associated with these vapors. An alternative is to simply purchase some peppermint oil and put it on a cotton ball and put in the diaper changing area where the infant is but for a few minutes at a time. This will make the stinky diaper changing process smell better.
