Can benadryl (diphenhydramine) be used to treat anaphylaxis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Epinephrine: Epinephrine is the drug of choice to treat anaphylaxis. Use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) only if dealing with hives and itching. Anything else, go to the er after you use your Epinephrine injector.
