Usually but...: You are supposed to lose all your baby teeth, but some individuals who do not develop 1 or more permanent teeth to push out their corresponding baby teeth, retain their baby teeth well into adulthood. X-rays reveal the development of both baby and permanent teeth so ask your dentist if you have all your permanent teeth developing.

Yes: Yes. There are 20 primary or "baby" teeth. The only time a baby tooth may not be lost, is if there is no permanent tooth to replace it.
