A member asked:

Can doctors tell how many times you've sprained your ankle? how long ago it was? and how you did it?

Maybe: The location of the injury on the ankle may indicate the mechanism of injury. As far as the number of sprains and age of injury, an MRI might give a clue as to the age but it would be hard to determine the number of injuries as each injury differs in severity location and mechanism.

Sprains: An MRI will help to determine the extend of the injury, but not how many times.

No, no, and no: Your doctor would not be able to tell exactly how man time you have strained your ankle. They will also not be able to tell exactly how long ago nor the exact cause of the injury.
