Go back to doctor: The gastroenterologist who performed your colonoscopy should be consulted again. Blood in the stool is never normal, and although in your case would suspect either hemorrhoids or small anal fissure, a full history and exam is the best and most accurate way to resolve this issue. Good luck.

Get checked out: Sounds like you had an episode of acute diverticulitis a year ago. The symptoms now might indicate the same. Alternative possibilities for the pain now include diverticulosis without the inflammation/infection, ibs (irritable bowel) or colitis (us or crohn's). The fresh blood is indicative of bleeding from a anorectal source most commonly hemorrhoids. See your doctor about this.
