Before midnight: Be sure you are using his/her current weight to dose the childrens' tylenol or advil, (ibuprofen) as they rapidly outgrow their last dr's appt doses by wt. Also try both Ibuprofen & acetaminophen, as some fevers are better controlled by one or other. Don't forget to avoid aspirin. If still playing, observe. If not usual self / won't eat/drink, call dr. Asap.

Above 102 in day: Keep in bed warm, drink plenty of water, give a tylenol (acetaminophen) and let nature heal.

Short answer....: You should never worry about calling your dr for advice or to express concern. Every pediatrician that i know believes "if you are concerned about your child, i'm concerned about your child". Find a dr you trust and then reach out to them when you need them. You will either learn there is something to be worried about, and treated accordingly, or that there isn't, and u can relax. Both are good!
