Good to take anytime: While prenatal vitamins are formulated for the needs of pregnancy, they are excellent general vitamins. The iron in the prenatal vitamins can cause some constipation so fiber in your diet is a good thing.

After breastfeeding: Prenatal vitamins are great overall vitamins, but are especially formulated to provide nutrients needed to support a pregnancy. All of that goodness is still necessary when you are breast-feeding, so continue them for sure for as long as you breastfeed your baby. After that, it's your choice as to whether or not to continue supplementation.
