Talk to your doctor: You may try over-the-counter black cohosh and/or soy protein. These are natural sources of estrogen. After talking to your doctor, (s)he may test your testosterone level, and prescribe it if low. Some people may choose to take the newer types of prescription estrogen replacement for a period of time. Others might choose non-estrogen prescription meds that help to relieve hot flashes.

See a doctor: First of all, the menopause is not because the high fsh. High FSH is a result of menopause, which means that the ovaries not respond to FSH stimulation and do not produce more follicles. I suggest to see a gynecologist or a reproductive endocrinologist. You need to check your hormone status, including estrogen, fsh, lh, tsh, prolactin. Pelvic ultrasound is also necessary.

More than estrogen: The menopause results from lack of ovarian follicle activity & cessation in production of estradiol. The ovary is also responsible for Progesterone & testosterone production which cease during menopause as the ovaries become smaller. Thyroid & adrenal hormone production as well as the above can all be involved in these symptoms. Find a dr. Who will measure them & optimize them.
