A member asked:

I recently took a test of fsh and lh for menopause. fsh was 10 and lh 4.4. now 3 months prior to the bloodwork i had recieved a 100 mg progesterone shot. can i rely on these numbers or could the progesterone still be lowering high fsh/lh after 3 mos?

Progesterone will not influence FSH/LH, but at "44" it is not uncommon for FSH and LH to be elevated, as your follicles require more stimulation to be matured to ovulation. The average age for true menopause is 54, and prior to that, aging follicles may create this phenomenon, along with longer intervals between menstrual events.
