Could be: If it is indeed the problem, you should be able to feel a sharp edge on the tooth with your finger. Or it could be something else. Have a dentist check it out.

Very possible: Until the filling is polished and smooth you will continue to have additional trauma to your tongue. Once it is smoothed it may take up to a week for the tongue to heal and the pain to go away. If the problem persists see your dentist to evaluate the lesion and you may receive a prescription for a paste to cover and promote healing of the lesion.

YES, infection now?: If you can detect a sharp edge of a filling with your tongue or clean finger, then it is too sharp and the filling needs to be modified, replaced or polished. & your tongue and throat needs to be checked for possible infection. Important to see the dentist who placed the filling for their evaluation and treatment recommendation. May need to see otolaryngologist for throat.

Broken Tooth/Filling: Yes it certainly can. Sometimes the edge can simple be smoothed or the filling replaced. This is not a dental emergency per se but the filling could also be loose and need attention so you need to see your dentist as soon as you can arrange it.

Yes: A sharp tooth can definitely scrap the side of the tongue and make the area sore. This can excel to swelling of the tongue, as a result, swallowing becomes uncomfortable.
