Changes efficacy: Many drugs are made a certain way to maximize how well they work. Crushing or breaking them can cause the active compounds to be released too fast, or differently. That drug has a version of sublingual hyoscamine which is held under the tongue and dissolves in order to work. But a regular pill will not work that way.
