His scratching may : Be a habit after having pinworms. Cut his nails really short & apply zinc oxide paste around his anus. If there is local redness or inflammation, ask his pediatrician to check for infection from his breaking the skin & mucus membrane by scratching. Teach him to wash his hands after touching his bum & use moist wipes to clean after bm's. Wearing overalls can help stop it, as can behavior therapy.
