Some basics: With pinworms the itch has little to do with the worms. It is triggered by a skin reaction to the goo the female lays her eggs in at the anus. It takes a week or more after treatment for this to fade But can be aided by a cold wash and application of hydrocortizone cream. If you think you have piles that would require an exam to verify. Treatment would depend on the findings on exam.
