Stage4 nsclc that is in chest area about a inch from heart, was told the only thing was maybe radiation but can't do because of harm to heart?

Disagree: Can try chemotherapy. Also radiation can be done that limits amount of radiation to heart. I would get another opinion from either an oncologist or another radiation oncologist. Hope this helps.

Multidiscipline plan: All lung cancer is recommended to be treated and managed with multidiscipline approach. The team can assess options for special targeted therapies. These may include certain types of focused radiation and/or chemotherapy.

Xrt for palliation: If the tumor is large or causing issues even nearby the heart, palliative radiation is possible and can be safe depending upon how your overall performance status is otherwise. It can cause severe irritation of the esophagus if too close, so his has to be taken into account. While an inch is sort if close its bit very close by new radiation standards and the heart should b avoidable.
