A member asked:

Am wearing a 4 electrodes event monitor.sometimes the monitor drops off my pants waist dangling above the floor&dropped on the floor once.when the monitor dropped, it pulled down all electrodes which hurt my skin&chest.can this harm my heart&body?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: That type of event monitor is a recording device and just detects electrical activity and records it. The device does not send out electrical signals so does not interact with the heart or other parts of the body. Nothing happens to a patient's body if the event monitor drops, hits the ground, or breaks... other than maybe free hair removal when a sticky pad suddenly pulls off.
