Allergy?: Post nasal drip can cause you to have a persistent sore throat. You did not mention if you have nasal congestion with it. See your doctor for proper diagnosis.

Not a cold: Usual viral infections, like a cold, don't cause sore throats to last 2 months. The sores are not described, but viruses like herpes simplex can sometimes do this. I also worry about candidiasis, which can happen in people who have immune compromise like hiv. A health provider needs to look at your throat and see what these sores look like. That will help determine next steps so you feel better.
