Early follicles.: Follicles start small and grow throughout the month. They are usually a little bigger than 2cm when they release the egg. A subcentimeter follicle would be less than 1cm and implies an early cycle follicle. It is neither bad nor good. It is normal in a normal cycle. If you have pcos, then it is very common to have many early follicles, but they may not ovulate. Normal ovaries are 2 to 4cm.
