I had an us and within the results were "subcentimeter follicles found in each ovary." is this normal? i was on day 22 of my cycle.

Yes: If you are not having ovulation induction this could be normal. If you are having ovulation induction and this was a follicle check, then this does not seem likely that your ovaries responded to the medication. Talk to your doctor.
