A member asked:

Can follicle in the ovary become large or grow big?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Every month, a group of eggs or follicles starts the maturing process in the ovaries. One follicle becomes the dominant or main one. It's usually about 20mm or 1 inch in size. If that egg is not released, it can continue to grow and becomes a simple cyst. These can commonly grow to several centimeters in size and occasionally very large.
