Not bad. : The worst part is the injections to numb the toe. A podiatrist does these type of injections daily and should be very good at giving them with the least amount of pain possible. Use of Ethyl Chloride spray at the time of the injection is very helpful in easing the injection pain.

It depends...: At times ingrown toe nail removal procedures may be performed without numbing the toe, but often, anesthesia is necessary. Often times your physician will use a cold spray to minimize your discomfort. The amount of pain that you may experience will depend on your pain tolerance and the presence and severity of the infection if present.
