Phenol/alcohol: The least painful procedure for removal of an ingrown toenail is the phenol/alcohol prodecure with amerigel dresssing to follow. There are other alternatives, but this is the quickest and easiest recovery. I don't know anyone in seattle, but if you call a podiatrist there and ask him if he dose the above mentioned procedure, you will be in the right direction. Good luck.

You're numb!: Any procedure a podiatrist does for an ingrown removal will involve numbing you up first, so the discomfort during the local anesthetic injection should be the same wherever you go and whatever procedure is performed. During the procedure itself, you may feel pressure, but no pain or discomfort. Your podiatrist will have recommendations on individualized procedure type when you see them.

Seattle: I'd recommend drs. Jeff christensen or bryon hutchinson at swedish medical center. Procedures are listed in previous answers (though could be stated nicer). Hope this helps!

Podiatrist: Toenails issues are the "bread and butter" of podiatrists - specialists in the care of the feet. While distressing to you, your problem is not uncommon and all podiatrists have great skill and experience in dealing with this. Select one near where you live - call the local Podiatry society for information or check on Google.
