Heartburn from antibiotics and lyme disease. any remedies for this?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Eat after meds: I'm assuming that you're probably taking doxycycline, since it's the usual first choice antibiotic for lyme disease. Doxy capsules can irritate the esophagus if they get stuck on the way down. To prevent this, eat bread or another bland solid food (not milk or dairy) right after taking doxy to push the pills down. If you've already irritated your esophagus you may need to see your doc to get meds.
