Local anesthetic : Your doctor may have used local anesthetic which lasts up to 12 hours. Once the local anesthetic affect stops, you may feel the pain of the extraction.

Can be: If the teeth were easily extracted then post op pain can be minimal. Every surgery is different.Severely impacted wisdom teeth require much more trauma to remove and surgery causes more swelling and pain.
