No: Antibiotics are prescribed for a specific diagnosis by a provider. If you are making your own diagnosis then you are short changing yourself. Using left over meds means you did not completely treat a previous infection. Using the wrong antibiotic can lead to overgrowth of bacteria and or side effects. See a dentist for diagnosis and proper treatment.

Tooth Abscess: An abscess of dental origin needs to be physically treated by a dentist... antibiotics just control the infection to prevent spreading, they do not solve the dental issue. Please seek care to avoid further complications.

See your dentist: I don’t understand why you keep getting an abscess, taking antibiotic does not solve the problem. You need actual treatment to eliminate the cause of the infection that is causing the abscess. In some cases you may need a root canal or an extraction or gum treatment. Take care of the problems otherwise you may loose your teeth and end up with dentures or no teeth at all. Please get help,

Wrong Rx: Einstein's definition of insanity wasbndoi8ng the same thing over again and expecting different results. You have already discovered that antibiotic will not cure "gum abscess," only temporarily reduce symptoms. You need professional help, preferably by a gum/bone specialist, a periodontist. Antibiotics may be part of a treatment regimen for your gum disease, but not a complete cure.
