Need to see doctor: There are many types of red spots ranging from birthmarks (hemangiomas etc) to brown hyperpigmentation lesions and treatment varies from excision, cryotherapy, radiofrequency ablation to laser, ipl (intense pulse light) therapies. For brown hyperpigmentation spots hydroquinone/tretinoin combo works well.

Many: You can use topical Metrogel if you have rosacea. If you have a hemangioma you may need a laser treatment or ipl.
