What is the life expectancy for an alzheimer's patient?

About 8 years: It depends on the age of diagnosis. It is usually 8 years but if the diagnosis is made when the person is in the 80ies it may be only 3 years.

May vary: Often said to be roughly 10-15 yrs after diagnosis, but could be shorter period of time depending on age of diagnosis, and co-morbidities. The alzheimer's meds on the market do not seem to change life expectancy.
