What medications are good for memory loss that is not caused by alzheimer's?

Depends on cause: If due to drug reaction associated with anticholinergic side effects, change the med or dose. If due to multiple strokes, use preventative meds. If secondary to b-12 deficiency, supplement with b-12. Perhaps, a homocysteine elevation, maybe cerefolin-nac. Sometimes drugs such as Namenda (memantine) or donepezil can be used off-label for head injury, multiple sclerosis, etc.

Same medications: Acetylcholineesterase inhibitors (e.g., aricept, (donepezil) reminyl) are effective also in memory impairment caused by vascular dementia and dementia with lewy bodies.
