A member asked:

If a person cuts back on the amount of food they eat would they eventually not need to eat as much?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and no: When you cut back your stomach does "shrink" and usually a person becomes accustomed to eating less. Every adult needs 2500 (female) to 3000+ (male) calories a day to run efficiently and have energy reserves. It helps to eat more fresh foods and less processed and fatty foods. Because fruits and veggies have fewer calories you can eat more and feel satisfied.
