No.: Penicillin is not a type of fungus. It was derived from a fungus, really a mold. Your foot fungus (athlete's foot) will not lead to brain damage or allergic reactions.

Penicillin : This antibiotic was isolated from cultures of a mold, penicillium notatum. If you are truly allergic to penicillin consider getting a warning wrist band. Superficial fungal infections of your skin will not lead to brain damage.
