Not right?: Doesn't sound right. Uti in a male lasting a month is very suspicious for another problem you should talk this over with your doc and consider testing and/or seeing a urologist.

See below. : You need a urine culture done as your infecting bacteria is likely resistant to the Ampicillin you are taking. You should have a rectal exam to be sure you do not have prostatitis which may not respond to Ampicillin even if the infecting bacteria is sensitive because of ampicillin's poor penetration of prostate tissue. You should also have a renal/bladder ultrasound to r/o stones or obstruction.
