A member asked:

I was prescribed ampicillin for my uti (3x a day for 3 days) and it has helped a lot. the stinging and discomfort has dissolved, but i was wondering if i could have a second prescription to make sure the infection/pain is completely gone?

Not recommended: usually the course for uncomplicated uti is antibiotics for 3 days only in females. It continues to work for a few days after stopping the antibiotics. Only if the symptoms are persisting or recurring after this that you would need another course. Continue to drink plenty of water.
