A member asked:

If i were to use ampicillin for what i thought was a uti on and off for about 2 months of the year would that build a resistance?? i know have h pylori and im scared that it wont cure because of that?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

People don't develop antibiotic resistance but germs can. After an interval of a few weeks your bodies germ population changes. Some germs will respond to any antibiotic and some are resistant. H. pylori is usually treated with several agents at the same time, likely for that reason.
