Preoperative tests: Preoperative testing depends on your medical history, age, procedure to performed and surgeon preference. For instance for breast surgery one may ask for a mammogram. Surgeons may have different lab requirements. Some may order coagulation studies, a cbc, and chemistry panel to make sure there are no abnormalities. It really is different for each patient, regardless of if its tx or other states.

It depends.: Preop tests vary according to your health and age. More common tests include a CBC and pregnancy test. Mammogram or ekg may be required depending on your breast and cardiac health and if you are over a certain age. Specific tests may be required if you have certain pre-existing diseases.

Depends: age/history: The preoperative testing is dictated by your medical health and age and sex and surgery. For example at 35, all that is needed may be a pregnancy test as a female. But if you have a history if bleeding or anemia or diabetes, more extensive testing may be requested. If you have a family history of breast carcinoma and want implants, a mammogram may be indicated but not for liposuction.

Tests before surgery: That depends on the type of surgery you are having. For minor procedures under local anesthetic only, usually no tests other than a history and physical are needed. For procedures with a general anesthetic, usually minor blood work is required.
