When to get checked: If you are not vomiting, not febrile and generally getting better then okay to call for an appointment with your doc. If you vomit, get a fever then get checked sooner. There are several possibilities here, hernia, constipation, enteritis, and the flu.

Mild diverticulitis: A possible mild diverticulitis not requiring antibiotics. May very well flare up again. If recurs then a workup. In mean time go to a high fiber diet.
