A member asked:

Are there any tests that can be done on my 4 year old with asthma that continue to get pneumonia?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Confusing question: Any asthma patient is more prone to develop pneumonia than the general population. Good basic symptom control can reduce this somewhat. Many kids with asthma in early child improve & become asymptomatic as the get older. There are thousands of "tests" & their use should be guided by the need for specific information. It is best to discuss the need for testing with the kids pcp.
