A member asked:

Are there any tests that can be done on my 4 year old with asthma that continue to get pneumonia?

Any asthma patient is more prone to develop pneumonia than the general population. Good basic symptom control can reduce this somewhat. Many kids with asthma in early child improve & become asymptomatic as the get older. There are thousands of "tests" & their use should be guided by the need for specific information. It is best to discuss the need for testing with the kids pcp.
