Use a smaller brush: If this problem has been going on for a long time than you need to see an ENT for evaluation immediately!. If this is recent, than start by seeing your dentist first as you may just have a very strong gag reflex.

Use smaller toothbru: Sounds like you have a strong gag reflex. Try using a smaller toothbrush and less toothpaste. Brush less areas at a time, rinse w water, and then go to the next area. Stay away from the tongue and palate as these areas illicit the reflex. This happens often in people w large tongues. Good luck!
