Not generally: The paraspinal muscles are seldom really torn. They can become inflammed, irritated, or affected by the underlying nerves, but they do not generally tear. Muscles in the neck also do not generally tear. Any orthopedic surgeon can help you with the problem. If it ultimately doesn't heal, there a spine surgeon can be called upon to assist.

No, not Realy: Paraspinal muscles have good blood supply and may be expected to heal when the injury is supported. Ligaments can also be injured when muscles tear, and they do not heal easily. Prolotherapy is a technique to stabilize them. The issue is not repair, but how to maximize healing. A physiatrist who specializes in spine can diagnose and treat these injuries.
