Do the following: Rest on a flat surface with a thin soft pillow under you head and neck, start taking advil (ibuprofen) 600 mg - 800 mg three times per day for 3-5 days, drink plenty of fluids, have someone massage your neck and upper back with bengay or apply hot towel over your neck to increase blood circulation into the neck muscles. If not improved, call your doctor to have an exam. If this is a recurrent condition: xrays.
