A member asked:

I am concerned about aneurysms in any part of my body as well as cancer, will a full body mri rule out these conditions?

Sorry, no...: I would advise you to not dwell on things that could develop. I'd like to see you focus on things you can control, such as diet, lifestyle, exercise, and life choices. Certainly if some symptoms develop that indicate such concerns, then your health team will direct the appropriate work up. There are appropriate age and family history screens that can be applied. Your doctor can help. Good luck.

MRI : These full body scans are usually more problems than good. They typically find incidental finding which create more tests and neurosis. When thrusts norm they lull the patient into a false sense of security . Get a careful exam based on risk factors to see what you need.

No: Do you have a strong family history of cancer or aneurysms? There is no such test as a full body mri, i think you are referring to a total body ct scan. This may identify potential abnormalities such as lung nodules, liver and kidney masses or aneurysms. The great majority of these findings are benign but will lead to increased invasive testing or surgery, which may lead to complications.
