The instructions with it should be 1 every 6 hours as needed, not just one every 6 hours. If you have milder pain, tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil might also be effective. Yes: You can switch to advil and tylenol (acetaminophen) after four hours. Combined they work together for higher pain control. Two or three advils or motrins(200mg) and one or two tylenol (acetaminophen) tabs. The narcotics can make you dizzy or nauseated. They are only for pain control. Drink lots of water with pills and keep something on stomach(soft and mild). Follow your surgeon's instructions.
