Probably not: It's generally not a good idea to use meds with a potential for dependency over the long haul. There are exceptions, but these ought to considered carefully by a real expert.

Meprobamate: Meprobamate is an old (1955) carbamate sedative used for anxiety. It can be highly addictive, even at doses near those recommended for treating anxiety. It's also very dangerous in overdoses, where the tablets may form a mass in the stomach that has to be physically extracted. Benzos are much safer, though also carrying risks of habituation & addiction. Ssri's are better to prevent panic.
