If it is rubbing : Against the shoe, perhaps you need a wider shoe or can have the shoemaker stretch the shoe.....Or you can consider having the bunion removed. Alternatively, visit the local drugstore that has a bunch of bunion gizmos most of which people get feed up with.

Consider surgery: If conservative relief does not decrease pain, ie orthotics, stretching shoe; consider a foot and ankle surgical consult.

Silicon: As a temporary measure, or if you can't have bunion surgery for circulation or other health reasons, a silicon bunion shield can help. Im not a big fan of dr. Sholl's but they do make a good silicon shield. Also, make sure your shoes have a wide boxy toe. Surgery is usually the best long term option if there are no contraindications.

Hmm: Buy wider shoes, sandals, cut slit in side of shoe or get your bunion fixed.
