Not really: I advise my patients never to force a foot to accommodate a shoe. While bunions generally aren't caused by shoes, a tight-toed shoe will certainly exert pressure on the great toe in the direction of deformity. Shoes should have a thumb width between the toe of the shoe and the longest toe. If you can't wiggle your toes, the shoe is too tight and you are asking for corns and other irritation issues.
