Adrenal insufficienc: If an individual's adrenals may not be making enough cortisone to live (symptoms include fatigue, abdominal pain, dizziness, nausia), this is tested. If someone has needed to be on repeated or prolonged Prednisone or quite high inhaled corticosteroids for a prolonged period, adrenal insufficiency is a possibility. Adrenal insufficiency may also be related to autoimmune causes.
