Depends: This is assuming your back pain is due to an arthritic or inflammatory medication. Depending on the NSAID you are taking you also have to be concerned with potential side effects of opioids. Have yourself evaluated by a physician for a more definite treatment plan.

?Helping: The important question is are the nsaids helping? If they are, you have to balance the risk of complications like GI irritation or ulcers, possible bleeding, BP problems and kidney damage with your benefits. Opioids(narcotics) can help but carry their own issues like constipation, drowsiness, endocrine dysfunction and possible addiction. Get evaluated for other treatment like, pt, trigger points.
