3-4 weeks: 3-4 weeks after a robotic histerectomy vs. 6-8 after an abdominal one.

2 weeks: A total laparoscopic hysterectomy done with the da vinci robot makes for a much easier recovery than a traditional hysterectomy. Usually patients can go home the same day or after an overnight hospital stay. Most can go back to work in 2 weeks unless they have a physically demanding job. No intercourse for 6-8 weeks.

Quicker: Most people will be in the hospital as same day surgery or overnight stay. I let my patients drive after a week if they are not on narcotics. Work is ok after 2-3 weeks if the job is not involving heavy lifting. Intercourse is allowed after the 6 week check up

Varies: From a few hours to a day for discharge after the surgery and from a few days to a couple weeks for complete recovery. Most doctors recommend no sex for about 8 weeks after this surgery.
