Why can driving under the influence of a psychoactive drug contribute to an accident?

Intoxication: Any psychoactive drug can impair ones ability to perform even the most menial and familiar tasks. Some drug effects are more obvious than others(alcohol, for instance) while others may have more subtle effects. If a psychoactive drug is prescribed(a pain killer for instance) a warning will appear on the label.
